Multi-layer structures that combine barrier, strength and printability
A flexible laminate is a multi-layer packaging material created by bonding two or more film or foil substrates together using solvent-free, water-based, solvent-based or UV adhesive systems. Each layer contributes a specific property: the outer layer carries the print, the barrier layer protects the product, and the sealant layer enables heat-sealing on your filling equipment.
Printed laminates combine high-quality surface or reverse printing with precisely selected barrier layers — delivering both brand communication and product protection in a single material supplied in roll form for direct use on your FFS machine or pouch line.

When to choose printed vs. plain laminate supply
Choose printed laminates when:
- You want one supplier for print and laminate — eliminating print supplier coordination
- Your volume justifies gravure printing for consistent colour reproduction across large runs
- You're running a VFFS or HFFS machine and need roll-form supply with print already applied
- Your brand requires reverse-printed laminate for scratch resistance and premium feel
- You're launching a new product and want to control the full supply chain from one certified manufacturer
Choose plain laminates when:
- You have an existing print supplier and only need the laminate base material
- You're producing private label or plain-packed products with labelling applied separately
- Your volumes are too low to justify print plate investment at this stage
- You need plain white or transparent film for secondary packaging applications
- You're specifying for industrial or non-retail applications where branding is not required
Flexweb supplies both printed and plain laminates. Contact our team to discuss which option is right for your current stage and volume.
